CBD

What is CBD (Cannabidiol) Oil?

Cannabidiol is a natural, non-psychoactive concentrate extracted from the Hemp plant.  Hemp is a member of the same family (cannabis) as marijuana. It contains higher amounts of CBD and negligible amounts of the psychoactive THC.

The wild version of this plant, sometimes called ‘ditch weed’, it grows abundantly throughout the Midwest and Plains States and has been used to make rope, clothing and other natural products.

The oil can be taken in extract form with a dropper, by itself or mixed with water or juice.  Dosage depends on the concentration of the oil.  With a 500MG oil, typical dosage starts at around one-half dropper full (consult your physician).  Furthermore, these effects can usually be felt within a few minutes to a couple of hours depending on dose and the method of dosing and can typically last from 5 to 7 hours.

According to research outlined by The National Institute of Drug Abuse, the extract may be helpful for many health issues and conditions, as well as providing a general improvement in one’s quality of life.  The research, along with much anecdotal evidence suggests that the oil may be useful for chronic pain relief, stress, anxiety, depression, inflammation, substance abuse, and insomnia.

A 2006 study showed that it reduced the incidence of diabetes in non-obese animals.  A British study showed that it promotes cardiovascular health by protecting against vascular damage caused by inflammation or diabetes.
