On November 29th, 2017, The American Kratom Association hosted a press conference in Atlanta, GA. The purpose of the press conference was to rebuke some of the lies and misinformation coming from the FDA’s recent Health Advisory on Kratom and to inform the public of the many benefits kratom has to offer users.

Dr. Jack Henningfield, Ph.D., vice president of Research, Health Policy, and Abuse Liability at PinneyAssociates. Dr. Henningfield previously served as chief of the Clinical Pharmacology Research Branch of the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and is currently an adjunct professor of Behavioral Biology in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
